Notch-Grooving – Precise Grooves for Your Advertising Technology

This grooving process is primarily carried out on printed products to facilitate subsequent folding and enhance durability. By notch-grooving, the paper is weakened at the fold lines, preventing it from breaking or the color from peeling off during folding. This technique is particularly used for materials with a higher grammage (from 170 g/m²) to fold the paper cleanly and professionally. Classic examples of applications include folders, binders, 4-page postcards, and business cards.

Production Details:

  • Service: Manufacturing of grooves for printed products to facilitate the folding process.
  • Materials: Paper, cardboard, and other materials.

Our Notch-Grooving Technique:

When notch-grooving, a minimal amount of material is removed from the material. This weakens the product at the fold edge and prevents it from breaking or tearing during folding. However, the printed color is also lost at this point.

Areas of application

  • Printed Products: Folders, folders, postcards, and business cards that need to be folded after printing.
  • Paper Processing: Optimization of the folding process for heavier paper (from 170 g/m²).
  • Cartonage: Application areas where a precise fold edge is important.

Your advantages at a glance:

  • Better Edges: Notch-Grooving (and also regular grooving) prevents the paper from tearing or breaking.
  • Weakening the Material at the Right Places: Notch-Grooving allows for professional and clean folding of materials with high grammage.
  • Optimal Results: Perfect fold edges without damaging the material or color.
