HPL compact panels (High Pressure Laminate) are premium, exceptionally durable layered material boards composed of multiple paper or fabric layers saturated with resin under high pressure and temperature, compressed into dense self-supporting panels. They are characterized by their resilience and versatility.
Construction:
- Core: Consists of multiple layers of kraft paper impregnated with phenolic resin. These layers are compressed under pressure (over 7 MPa) and heat (approx. 150°C).
- Decorative layer: A melamine resin-impregnated layer forming the visible surface, available in various designs and colors.
- Surface finish: Can be matte, glossy, textured or specially finished (e.g. scratch-resistant, antibacterial).
Characteristics:
- High load capacity: Impact, scratch and abrasion resistant.
- Water and moisture resistant: Ideal for wet areas or outdoor applications.
- Chemical resistant: Withstands many cleaning agents and chemicals.
- Heat resistant: Temporarily withstands high temperatures.
- Durable: Dimensionally stable and UV-resistant (depending on variant).
- Easy maintenance: Smooth surface that's simple to clean.
- Printability: Depending on the manufacturer and the features or finishing of the materials.
Printing tests are recommended.
