The exhibition “The High Seas of Ilse Aichinger” focuses on the renowned Austrian author, who would have turned 100 in 2021. The graphic carriers are lightweight and sustainable honeycomb panels, which we printed using our UV direct printer and then contour-cut with a CNC milling machine. The panels are lightweight, allowing them to be suspended in multiple overlapping layers using nylon cords. The choice of cardboard materials has once again proven highly effective. We produced the sleeves in the drill holes ourselves using a 3D printer. The honeycomb cardboard panels were partially enhanced with tactile elements—object reproductions also printed on display cardboard using UV direct printing. At key points in the exhibition, references were marked with small flags, which we created from round wood and self-adhesive film with latex printing. Two eye-catching elements, also made from honeycomb cardboard, include a flyer stand and a table. The stand is placed in an adjustable aluminum base and features a small compartment for inserting flyers.
The table was also entirely built from honeycomb panels and displays several documents with a view of Wannsee. These were printed half directly onto the honeycomb cardboard and half on paper, which was mounted on the table with spacing.
