Execution
The agency Vitamin B2 provided us with the designs for the works we produced in advance. After receiving the designs, we began production in the respective project stages.
Project phase 1: Wallpaper, guidance systems and film bonding
First, we printed the wallpaper in the designs of blue, orange, and green, the colors of the Buxtehude City Library, and pre-cut it to the installation size. This wallpaper was used to cover the walls of the elevator. A different color was used on each floor.
For the stairwell doors, we prepared vinyl plots. These plots serve as a wayfinding system, showing visitors of the library which departments are accessible via the stairwell.
Some bookshelves feature side panels made of scratch-resistant coated acrylic glass on one side, which we back-applied with a reverse-printed, laminated, transparent film.
On other shelves, we applied a full-surface printed film, which shows visitors of the library which books are displayed here.
Project phase 2: Object signage, guidance systems and vinyl application
The exterior of the Buxtehude City Library also required a new sign to display the opening hours. We applied printed film to it and wet-glued it, then mounted it on-site.
The reception desk in the entrance area was equipped by us with cut vinyl lettering and a dark gray, full-surface printed film.
Once again, we applied various types of films to the acrylic shelf sides and other bookshelves as described above.
