1000 Years Ago | Life at the Court of Kunigunde and Henry II
What was life like 1000 years ago in Bamberg? This and other questions will be answered at the exhibition "1000 Years Ago," which will take place from October 25, 2024, to April 27, 2025.
Contents of the temporary exhibition:
The 1000th anniversary of the death of Emperor Henry II is being celebrated in Bamberg with the exhibition "1000 Years Ago." The special exhibition will take place at the Historical Museum of the Old Court at the Cathedral Square in Bamberg. However, it is not solely about the emperor, but also about the people, life, his wife Kunigunde, her reign, and the military campaigns of the time.
Tasks:
The production and further processing of exhibition walls, glass decor films, other self-adhesive films, wallpapering, and information panels is done in-house. After that, the transportation and on-site installation take place, including the attachment of acrylic triangle strips as construction support, as well as the fitting of existing systems with PVC free foam boards produced in 6/0C UV direct printing, some of which were contour-cut, at the Historical Museum in Bamberg.

Execution:
After the order confirmation, production started immediately. We began with the life-sized depictions of people from that time. Each panel displays different life situations.
Additionally, we processed banners, information panels on various carrier materials, glass decor films, and other self-adhesive films. Furthermore, we created canvas on stretcher frames and textile frames. The desired size exceeded the commercially available stretcher frame formats, so we had to custom-make a frame in the size of 225cm x 450cm. This was then assembled on-site by us.
After the production was completed, we sent our installation team along with the materials to Bamberg and began the setup and installation.
The multi-day stay was necessary due to the scope of the exhibition and the large geographical distance from Berlin, and it contributed positively to the efficient completion of the work.
